GENOMICS
Let's ask your DNA some important questions...

DNA contains all the information that determines who we are, how we look, how we age and what conditions we may be at risk of contracting.

We all have a unique genetic blueprint or genomic makeup which influences our health and wellbeing. Through the latest advancements in medical science, using DNA sequencing and genomics, we can now access the secrets previously hidden in the DNA sequences that make up your personal genome. We use medical genomics to explain why you show certain symptoms, and anticipate specific health challenges that may happen to you over time.

Leading the Field in Genomic Medicine

When reviewing the results of a genomics report, the information provided is mind-boggling.

Typically, one human genome comprises around 3.2 billion letters of DNA and around 20,000 protein coding genes.

Understanding and consolidating this information into an actionable report takes years of advanced medical training, extensive research and specialist scientific experience. JDoc365 have a dedicated genomics resource headed by Dr Frances Sturridge who is a leading authority on this exciting new area of medicine.

Dr Sturridge has a master’s degree in Genomic Medicine from Cambridge University and MBBS with Distinction in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. She also qualified at The Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and is a Member of The Special Interest Group for Genomics in Primary Care.

3. Action Plan & Follow-Up

Your test results are available after several weeks and will be fully explained in a Zoom consultation. Your reports help to optimise your long term health, with a nutrition and lifestyle plan based on your results and wellbeing goals.

Genomics Reports

Take Control

We can make informed decisions about your health and wellbeing which would have been beyond our diagnostic scope before.

We can take steps to treat existing conditions and prevent/intercept issues that may affect you in the future. You no longer need to be defined by the life course that you were born with. You can take control.

Our comprehensive range of Genomic tests

Nutrient Core Test

This foundational test analyses how gene variants can affect food tolerance (and intolerance), appetite control, blood sugar balance, vitamin and mineral needs, detoxification ability, and susceptibility to inflammation and infection. Nutrient Core will help you understand the fundamental genetic interactions with diet and lifestyle and indicate whether specific functions require further genetic testing. It includes genes that have been shown to affect: Food Response, Caffeine Sensitivity, Microbiome Diversity, Vitamin Need, Blood Pressure, Detoxification, Metabolism, Inflammation, and Circadian Rhythm.

Metabolism Test

This analyses how your body absorbs nutrients, and factors supporting metabolic flexibility. Metabolic dysfunction can often present itself as excess weight, insulin resistance, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. It can also lead to type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular or neurodegenerative diseases. This test looks at appetite regulation, nutrient sensing, sugar and fat metabolism, cholesterol and bile synthesis, and mitochondrial function and inflammation. This can help with resistance to weight-loss medication and weight management after a weight loss programme.

Hormone Test

This test looks at how genes impact on steroid hormones such as progesterone, oestrogens, androgens (testosterone, DHEA) and cortisol, adrenaline and insulin. Imbalances of these hormones can affect men and women causing fertility issues, endometriosis, low libido, dry or oily skin, hair loss, low sperm count, excess facial hair, PCOS, PMS, mood swings, substance misuse, poor memory, weight gain and hormone sensitive cancers.

Detoxification Test

Detoxification is the physical removal of toxic substances from the body and brain such as food additives, pesticides, medications, air pollutants and alcohol. It is mainly carried out by the liver. Poor detoxification can cause chronic inflammation, headaches, muscle pain, fatigue, allergies, skin disorders, weight gain, bloating, acid reflux, sweating, infections, fertility issues, low libido, reduced mental function and low stress tolerance. This test identifies the nutritional support required to optimise detoxification.

Methylation Test

Methylation is a chemical process that changes the methyl groups in our bodies. Almost every metabolic process is affected by methylation. Too little or too much can increase risk of heart disease, circulatory issues, fatigue, infertility, mood disturbances, memory loss, allergies and sensitivities, autoimmunity and DNA instability. This test helps us to identify and treat any methylation imbalances.

APOE Test

The Apolipoprotein E gene (APOE) plays a vital role in fat metabolism through the removal of cholesterol from the blood. This test provides insights into risks of cardiovascular disease, insulin resistance and Alzheimer’s disease, along with genes involved in methylation, inflammation, toxicity and neuroprotection.

Nervous System Test

Anxiety, depression, migraines, ADHD, OCD, lethargy, addictive behaviours, poor memory and sleep disturbances can all be symptoms of neurotransmitter imbalance. This test examines the impact of your genetics on neurotransmitters such as serotonin and melatonin, dopamine, noradrenaline and adrenaline, glutamate and GABA, including interactions with endoCannabinoids (eCBs).

Thyroid Function Test

Thyroid dysfunction can cause weight gain, fatigue, low libido, cold intolerance, dry skin, constipation, depression, fertility issues, menstrual irregularities, anxiety, heat intolerance, heart palpitations, insomnia, and weight loss. Thyroid hormones have wide-ranging metabolic, developmental and cardiovascular effects. This test examines the genes in the thyroid hormone lifecycle and those that create susceptibility to inflammation or auto immunity.

Histamine Intolerance Test

Histamine is released into the blood as part of our defense against potential allergens. A reaction can be triggered by pollen, mould, NSAID pain medication, a range of foods, and alcohol. When the body is unable to break histamine down quickly enough, symptoms may include skin irritation, breathing difficulties (mimicking an allergic reaction) digestive problems, bladder sensitivity, painful periods, headaches, insomnia and anxiety. Histamine intolerance is frequently mistaken for a food allergy or gastrointestinal disorder. This test shows where disruptions occur and how to support optimal function.

Athlete Test

The athlete test is designed to enable a more intelligent, personalised approach to training, recovery and performance. In this report, we present elements of your unique DNA profile that have been shown to affect athletic performance. From the results, you will be able to tailor a programme that will be most effective for you to support cardiovascular adaptation, strategic fueling and strength. You can build resilience and reduce your risk of injury and illness to achieve your personal best.

Metals & Minerals Test

Over accumulation of minerals and toxic heavy metals can cause neurological issues like fatigue, brain fog, headaches and behavioral changes, as well as gastrointestinal problems including nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Joint pain, muscle weakness, eczema and, in severe cases, organ damage can also occur. This test investigates how your gene variants effect the balance of metals and minerals in your body through absorption, distribution and excretion, and provides the deep-dive medical evaluation crucial for accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Mantara Pharmacogenomic Testing

These tests are designed for individuals seeking a tailored approach to their medication. Whether managing a chronic condition, looking to optimise current medications, or simply preparing for any future health needs, Mantara’s comprehensive DNA analysis can provide invaluable insights.
